Diagnosis and Treatments of Snake Bites

by , February 10, 2012

in Animal Bites

In the event of a person being bitten by a snake, the need for immediate diagnosis is necessary.

There is the need to find out the species of snake involved so that the venom transferred can be identified, and hence the specific anti venom found in order for treatment to follow.

This is especially true for Tropical and Sub Tropical countries where exist a much greater size of snake, and indeed a much greater poisonous variety of snake.

Fortunately, in western habitats we have to deal only with two main types of poisonous snake, these being the Pit Viper and the Coral Snake, so, both diagnosis and treatments are somewhat easier.
